Meyers celebrate 60 years

Donald and Betty Meyers celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 11, 2012. They were married in Fort Worth, and have lived in Millsap for the last 22 years. They celebrated on May 12 with their children, David and Dell Morton, of Millsap; Lynn and Paula Hommel, of Crowley; Don and Tammy Meyers, of Gladewater; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three more great-grandchildren expected in July and August, as well as other family and friends.

Judds celebrate 55 years

Jack and Mikki Judd, residents in Aledo, celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on May 18.
Maude Elizabeth VanSickle and Jack J Judd were married May 18, 1957, in Las Vegas, Nev.
She has held multiple occupations (Max Factor representative, nursing assistant, home interior decorator), attended community college, and volunteered in her children’s schools and various cultural arts organizations, all while maintaining her most important career as a wife and homemaker.
He began his career as an engineering aide for the City of Anaheim, Calif., and retired as a registered professional civil engineer 1985.
After a year of travel, Jack and Mikki resided in Washington state for five years, Missouri and Alabama briefly, Utah for 12 years, and “retired” to Aledo, Texas, in 2005.
The Judds have two daughters: Dania (Jerry) Wolf of Keller, Texas, and Kerri (Buz) Judd Sawyer of Stafford, Va.; three granddaughters: Cara, Kyleen and Jacquelyn; and two great-grandchildren: Judd and Hailee.

McLaughlin-Cruz to wed

Paul and Shelia McLaughlin of Brock are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kate Michelle McLaughlin, to Billy Ray Cruz, of Brownwood, Texas.
The prospective groom is the son of Ramiro and Carola Cruz of Del Rio, Texas.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Howard Payne University and is employed with Weatherford Physical Therapy. The prospective groom is also a graduate of Howard Payne University and will be employed with the City of Arlington.
The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Azle, Texas.

Weeks-Hostetter marry

Megan Hostetter and Brett Weeks were united in marriage at 7 p.m., March 17, 2012 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Clinton, Okla.
The bride is the daughter of Hos and Lisa Hostetter of Foss, Okla. Her maternal grandparents are Clarence and Joyce Stamm of Foss, Okla. Her paternal grandparents are Claude and Jodean Hostetter of Burns Flat, Okla. The groom is the son of Truett and Nancy Weeks of Weatherford, Texas. The groom’s paternal grandparents are BJ and Mozell Weeks of Arlington, Texas.
The bride was given in marriage by Father Charles Buckley.
Maid of honor was Kelsey Walters, of Canute, Okla., a childhood friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Liz Foster, Michelle Dunn, Jamie Hostetter and Kristi Talbert. The flower girl was Avery Adami, of Dallas, Texas, the groom’s cousin.
Best man was Shane Weeks, of Weatherford, Texas, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Mitchell Hostetter and Taylor Brown. Ring bearer was Hudson Harbuck, of Fort Worth, Texas, the groom’s nephew.
A reception was held at the church following the ceremony.
After a six-day honeymoon in Antigua, the couple will reside in Shawnee, Okla.

Jennifer Swindle and Christopher Cook were united in marriage March 31, 2012, at Fossil Creek Golf Club, with Jeremy Lane officiating.
The bride’s parents are Rodney and Teresa Swindle of Weatherford, Texas. The bride’s maternal grandparents are Don and Norma West of Irving, Texas. Paternal grandparents are the late Ralph Swindle and Margaret Swindle of Granbury, Texas.
The groom’s parents are Mark and Stephanie Cook of Houston, Texas. The groom’s maternal grandparents are Michael and Mary Bagnoli of Canton, Ohio. Paternal grandparents are Walter and Delores Cook of Canton, Ohio.
Maid of honor was the bride’s best friend, Michele Lalli of Fort Worth, Texas. Bridesmaids were Kathleen Marshall, Kenzie Pierson and Cindy Agnew. Flower girl was the “dog”hter of the couple, Miss Madison of Weatherford, Texas.
Best man was the groom’s brother, Colin Cook of Houston, Texas. Groomsmen were Michael Cook, Jeff Morrison and Heath Hartfiel. Ushers were Jared Adams and Justin Shobe.
A reception followed the wedding at Fossil Creek Golf Club.
The couple honeymooned in Belize for a week.
The bride is employed as a registered nurse by Kelsey-Seybold. The groom is employed as a branch manager by Praxair. The couple will reside in Houston, Texas.

Cutter-Harris to wed

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Phillips Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis M. Cutter, all of Fort Worth.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Derrell R. Harris of Weatherford. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Truman Harris of Weatherford and Mrs. Doris Davis and the late Mr. Jim Davis of Mineral Wells.
They plan to marry Sept. 29, 2012, in Granbury, Texas.

Herrings celebrate 50 years

Marvin and Peggie Herring will celebrate their 50th Golden Anniversary on April 21, 2012.
Their children, Jason, Kevin and Lisa, daughters-in-law and son-in-law, and five grandchildren and friends will be honoring the happy couple with an elaborate dinner and an evening with fun activities in downtown Fort Worth.
Marvin and Peggie met at North Texas University and continued on with their master’s degrees. They moved to the “country” 38 years ago to raise their family and support the surrounding communities.
Marvin retired as a project manager and home contractor and Peggie retired as a librarian with Fort Worth ISD.

Jason and Holli Stockstill of Midland, Texas, welcomed a baby boy, Jake Stockstill, on March 15, 2012.
Jake was born in Midland, and weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 inches in length.
Also welcoming the family’s new addition was Jaret Stockstill, age 4.
Paternal grandparents are Jackson and Elaine Stockstill of Weatherford, Texas.
Paternal great-grandfather is Edd Spradling of Gordon, Texas.

Jeffersons celebrate 50 years, and church anniversary

Pastor Curtis Jefferson and Sarah Jefferson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary today in a special anniversary for their church, as well.
New Hope Baptist Church will celebrate 25 years of service with a morning worship at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow the morning worship. An afternoon worship service is at 3:25 p.m.
Pastor and Mrs. Jefferson were married March 17, 1962 in Wortham, Texas.
